Vico Sotto slams former PBA player for shouting at Pasig City personnel

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto slammed a former PBA player for cursing and shouting at city hall personnel as they distributed financial aid.

In a Facebook live session on Tuesday, Sotto said that the former player, living in Pasig Green Park Village, must've felt that the cash assistance was too small and started cursing the personnel.

"Kung naliliitan siya sa pinamimigay ng city ibig sabihin hindi niya kailangan 'yun," Sotto said. "Alam ko naman kung magkano sweldo niya dati. Hindi naman siya mahirap."

Sotto revealed that the ex-basketball player was a former teammate of his brother-in-law Marc Pringis.

The Pasig mayor added that the city hall personnel worked tirelessly to give all residents their aid and even entered the Green Park subdivision to give assistance to whoever needed it.

‘Yung sense of entitlement ng ibang tao, grabe talaga. Ito mga frontliners natin na nagpapagod, over beyond the call of duty tapos mumura-murahin ng taong ‘yun?"

"Sobra eh," the mayor added. "'Yung mga team leader natin pagod na pagod 'yan. Nagtratrabaho sila sa init ng araw."

According to Sotto, the city started distributing cash assistance to residents who were not included in the list of beneficiaries for the national government's social amelioration program.

This is to give aid to its residents amid the enhanced community quarantine imposed to stop the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). — Kaela Malig/LA, GMA News
