Quezon City gov't reports 1,910 COVID-19 cases with 596 recoveries, 165 deaths


The Quezon City government on Wednesday reported that, based on information from the Department of Health, there are 1,910 people infected with the virus that causes coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in the city.

The total number of confirmed cases with complete addresses in Quezon City is now at 1,727 while the total number of cases validated by the QC Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit and District Health Offices is 1,544.

As of Wednesday, there are 783 active COVID-19 cases in the city.

The local government unit also reported 18 new recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 596.

There are 2 new cases of death, bringing the total number of deaths to 165.

Quarantine facility

The HOPE 1 quarantine facility has 8 available rooms for COVID-19 confirmed and suspected patients.  There are 26 confirmed patients and 7 suspected patients in HOPE 1 facility.

At the HOPE 2 quarantine facility, 165 rooms/beds are occupied by confirmed and suspected COVID-19 patients while 129 beds are available. Those who have been tested in QC’s community-based testing are brought in HOPE 2 for self-isolation while waiting for their results.

At the HOPE 3 Facility, 33 confirmed patients are admitted.

Social Amelioration Program

For unclaimed and replacement SAP, May 21 was set for residents in the following areas: Maharlika, Manresa, Paraiso, Payatas, Amihan, Blue Ridge B, Escota 2, Escota 3, Matandang Balara, Quirino 2C, Dona Imelda, Kalusugan, Kamuning, Malaya, Obrero, and San Isidro Galas. -- BAP, GMA News
