Armored van crashes into e-bike riding medical frontliner

An armored van crashed into an e-bicycle-riding medical frontliner along EDSA on Saturday, Katrina Son report on "24 Oras Weekend." 

The 36-year-old victim was on her way home after night-duty at a hospital.

Though she had signaled that she was going to change lanes, the armored van, which was allegedly coming down the avenue at a fast clip, did not slow down and hit her.

According to the report, the vehicle also did not immediately stop, dragging the victim along and resulting in the lower half of her body going under the vehicle.

Rescuers at the scene said that the right arm of the victim had almost been broken. She was quickly taken to hospital.

Meanwhile, driver Elezaldo Garbo was taken to the Makati Traffic Bureau for investigation. He may face an imprudence resulting in physical injury charge. — Joahna Lei Casilao/DVM, GMA News
