Fewer ‘tiangge’ stalls at Greenhills mall amid new normal –Zamora

As the country transitions into the “new normal” amid the COVID-19 pandemic, San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora said Tuesday that the number of “tiangge” stalls at the Greenhills Shopping Center would be scaled down to ensure physical distancing was observed.

Interviewed on Dobol B sa News TV, Zamora said the mall management also modified the tiangge area’s layout by putting a two-meter distance in between stalls and adding a one-way walk flow marker for physical distancing.

The “tiangges” were set to open in June.

Zamora also noted that all mall vendors and shoppers were required to wear face masks.

Safety officers would ensure the proper implementation of sanitation and disinfection protocols such as body temperature checks and foot baths.

Meanwhile the Muslim prayer room and the Chapel, of the Holy Family remained closed to prevent mass gathering.

It was reported in March that the fifth COVID-19 case in the country often visited the Muslim prayer room.

The fifth patient, who is a 62-year-old man with no travel history abroad, was confirmed to be the first case of local transmission of the virus in the country. — DVM, GMA News
