23,000 taxis, TNVS to cater to commuters on June 1 – LTFRB

Some 23,000 taxi and transport network vehicle services (TNVS) units of  will be allowed to service commuters on Monday when Metro Manila shifts to a general community quarantine (GCQ).

In a statement on Sunday, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) said it approved an additional 17,000 TNVS units to operate, bringing the total to 23,067.

The majority of the units will be TNVS with 18,620, while taxis will account for the remaining 4,438 units.

Grab Philippines last week already announced measures to be implemented once operations resume, including a no-contact policy, as well as limiting passengers to two per ride. — DVM, GMA News
