Quezon City gov't reports 2,236 COVID-19 cases


The Quezon City reported on Tuesday that, based on information from  the Department of Health, there are 2,236 confirmed coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in the city.

The total number of confirmed cases with complete addresses in Quezon City is now at 2,099 while the total number of cases validated by the QC Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit and District Health Offices is 1,949.

There are currently 816 active COVID-19 cases in the city.

As of June 2, 2020 at 7 p.m. the local government reported 51 new recoveries bringing the total number of recoveries in the city to 951.

There is 1 new case of death reported,  bringing the total number of deaths to 182.

Quarantine facility

The HOPE 1 quarantine facility has 11  available beds for COVID-19 confirmed and suspected patients.  There are 25 confirmed patients, 5 suspected and probable patients in HOPE 1 facility.

At the HOPE 2 quarantine facility, 258 beds are occupied by confirmed and suspected COVID-19 patients while 36 beds are available. Those who have been tested in QC’s community-based testing are brought in HOPE 2 for self-isolation while waiting for their results.

The HOPE 3 Facility was recently opened to accommodate confirmed and suspected COVID-19 nursing mothers and their babies. The facility is equipped with 84 beds, cribs, bassinets and other baby essentials. As of June 2, 48 patients are admitted in the facility. -- BAP, GMA News
