Muntinlupa subivision undergoes 3-day lockdown due to rising number of COVID-19 cases


 

Muntinlupa City Mayor Jaime Fresnedi has decided to place Morning Breeze Subdivision in Barangay Alabang under a three-day extreme localized community quarantine due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the area.

The lockdown started at 12 a.m. on June 3 and will end at 11:59 p.m. on June 5, according to a report on 24 Oras News Alert on Wednesday.

Six residents tested positive for COVID-19 during the polymerase chain reaction testing conducted on May 27 in the subdivision.

Four other residents, who are exhibiting symptoms, are still awaiting their test results.

The local government said mass testing will be conducted in the subdivision by the City Health Office.

The LGU will also distribute relief food packs among the residents.

As of Tuesday, Muntinlupa has recorded a total of 236 cases of COVID-19, including 28 in Barangay Alabang.

There are also 45 active cases in the city, 32 deaths and 159 recoveries.

Alabang registered the highest number of probable cases at 117.

Nationwide as of Tuesday, cases of COVID-19 reached 18,997 with 4,063 recoveries and 966 fatalities. —Ma. Angelica Garcia/KG, GMA News
