Mandaluyong's New Hall of Justice and a building housing several courts in Manila will be on lockdown starting Monday until June 29 after a prosecutor in Mandaluyong tested positive for COVID-19.

The prosecutor went to the Mandaluyong Hall of Justice last week, according to Acting Executive Judge Ofelia Calo.

The prosecutor also went to the Old Ombudsman Building in Manila, prompting a lockdown there as well, said Supreme Court spokesman Brian Keith Hosaka.

Entry to the two buildings is prohibited during the lockdown, according to separate issuances from court authorities.

The Mandaluyong justice hall was disinfected last June 13 while the Old Ombudsman Building in Manila is scheduled for disinfection on Monday.

All regional and metropolitan trial court (MeTC) judges and personnel in the two buildings were told to undergo self-quarantine.

In the meantime, court submissions may be sent electronically and inquiries may be coursed through the courts' hotline numbers and email accounts.

Calo said all previously scheduled videoconferencing hearings will proceed. In Manila, the concerned courts may also conduct videoconferencing hearings, according to MeTC Executive Judge Carissa Anne Manook-Frondozo. —AOL, GMA News
