Hard lockdown on H. Monroy Street in Navotas extended up to June 20

Navotas City Mayor Toby Tiangco on Monday ordered that the hard lockdown imposed on H. Monroy Street in Barangay Navotas West be extended until June 20 due to the number of COVID-19 cases in the area.

The lockdown, which started at 5:01 a.m. on June 11, was supposed to end on June 15 at 11:59 p.m.

Tiangco extended the lockdown until 11:59 p.m. on June 20.

Navotas West," the mayor wrote in a Facebook post.

Tiangco said those who tested positive in the rapid test need to isolate themselves while waiting for the result of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) swab test.

Those who do not have an available room in their houses that can serve as isolation rooms may be admitted to the community isolation facility, he said.

Tiangco said frontliners such as essential workers exempted by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID), such as workers at the Navotas Fish Port Complex, are exempted from the lockdown.

Residents may also leave their homes in cases of medical emergency.

As of Monday, June 15 at 5 p.m., Navotas City has recorded 332 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Of this number, 158 recovered while 38 died.
