Quezon City shortens curfew hours, now 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.


 

The local government of Quezon City shortened the public safety or curfew hours in the city starting June 15.

From the previous curfew hours of 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., curfew hours are now 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Exempted from the curfew are those who need to go out for work, have emergencies or have scheduled flights or sea travel, Mayor Joy Belmonte said in a memorandum.

 

Religous services may also be held up to 10 p.m. but only with 10 people participating.

With the shortened curfew hours, some restaurants extended their operations until 10 p.m.

Restaurants are allowed to offer dine-in services at 30% capacity starting June 15.

The general community quarantine imposed on Quezon City and the rest of Metro Manila as part of measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 has been extended to June 30 by President Rodrigo Duterte.

As of Monday night, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Quezon City based on data from the Department of Health has reached 2,673. Of this number, 1,369 recovered and 213 died. —KG, GMA News
