CIDG seizes P21 million worth of face masks from 2 Chinese nationals


The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) on Friday seized P21 million worth of face masks in an entrapment operation against two Chinese nationals in Taguig City.

The CIDG identified the suspects as James Zhu and Charles Lee, both arrested for selling large quantities of KN95 disposable face masks through call and text transactions.

Police seized 200 boxes, each containing 1,000 KN95 masks, and entrapment cash from the suspects.

The CIDG said the face masks, worth P105 each, were being sold by the Chinese nationals at P45 “to sell it instantly and quickly.”

Zhu and Lee are now under the custody of the CIDG and will face multiple charges including violation of the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act. — Julia Mari Ornedo/BM, GMA News
