The 113 individuals nabbed on Sunday night in a restaurant-bar in Makati City will be released, according to Makati City police chief Police Colonel Oscar Jacildo on Tuesday afternoon.

They were arrested for alleged violations of social distancing rules amid the general community quarantine in Metro Manila. Among those nabbed by the police was actor and host KC Montero.

"May release order na," Jacildo told GMA News Online.

According to Police Major Gideon Ines, chief of Makati Police Criminal Investigation Unit, authorities are already on their way to the gymnasium to release the individuals.

Aside from customers of the establishment, also nabbed were the owner and his employees.

Police had claimed the restaurant-bar had no permit to resume its operations. The owner had refused to comment on the matter.

Earlier reports said the owner's lawyer had argued that the area was 900 square meters long and only 100 people were arrested.

The lawyer also said the establishment's tables were organized to ensure that social distancing would be practiced by its customers. — BM, GMA News
