45 more COVID-19 cases reported among MRT3 personnel; total now at 172

Forty-five more Metro Rail Transit 3 personnel tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of coronavirus infections among MRT3 personnel to 172, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said Sunday.

According to a report by Super Radyo dzBB’s Luisito Santos, DOTr Assistant Secretary for Communications and Commuter Affairs Goddes Hope Libiran said of the total number of infected personnel, 166 are depot personnel, while six are station personnel.

Four of the six station personnel are ticket sellers, a nurse and a train driver.

Libiran said the spike of COVID-19 cases among MRT3 personnel was due to the ongoing swab testing and contact tracing.

She added that frequent disinfection is being carried out at MRT3 stations to prevent the spread of the virus.
