Manila plans to set up another drive-thru COVID-19 testing site

After opening a drive-thru COVID-19 testing site in front of the Andres Bonifacio monument beside the City Hall this week, the City of Manila on Thursday bared plans to add another soon.

With motorists enduring hours of waiting in line at the drive-thru testing site on Wednesday, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno told GMA News that the new testing site will be at the Quirino Grandstand.

He said this testing site will be able to accommodate more individuals because it will have more lanes.

Moreno also added that walk-in testing sites will also be put up in city hospitals.

“We will have soon, this is soon, in Gat Andres Bonifacio Hospital. Soon, literally soon, for Ospital ng Sampaloc. And Ospital ng Maynila,” he said.

“Even just peace of mind with testing, we’ll give it to you. We’ll give it to you for free as much as possible,” Moreno added.

The Philippines currently has 61,266 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 21,440 recoveries and 1,643 deaths. — BM, GMA News
