QC Mayor Joy Belmonte now negative for COVID-19, says official

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte has now tested negative for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

This was confirmed to GMA News Online by the QC Legal Office on Friday.

"Yes, she is just complying with health protocols on quarantine but she has already tested negative twice earlier this week," Atty Niño Casimiro, the office's OIC, said in a text message.

On July 8, Belmonte, who was asymptomatic, disclosed that she got infected with COVID-19.

Belmonte had said she was not surprised that she got infected because she has been visiting health centers, hospitals and areas in the city that were placed under special concern lockdown due to COVID-19. —KBK, GMA News
