Four streets in Napico, Barangay Manggahan in Pasig City will be placed under a 14-day localized enhanced community quarantine starting July 19, Sunday due to the spike in COVID-19 cases in those areas.
According to Mav Gonzales’ report on “24 Oras Weekend” on Sunday, the streets to be placed on localized lockdown until August 2 are Pipino, Labanos, Okra, and Ubas.
Barangay Manggahan chairwoman Sheila De Asis said as of Saturday, the barangay recorded a total of 104 COVID-19 cases, including six deaths and 50 active cases.
“Kung makakatulong po para mabawasan po ‘yong cases at ‘di na po madagdagan ‘yong number, okay lang po sa amin. And even ‘yong talipapa namin, willing po silang magsara ng isang araw sa isang linggo para lang po mabawasan ‘yong volume ng tao sa kalsada,” De Asis said.
Police and barangay officials will be monitoring the entry and exit points of the four streets 24/7.
Residents will only be allowed to leave their homes for work and emergency purposes. They have to show their quarantine passes and company IDs to the police frontliners.
The city government, meanwhile, said that relief goods will be distributed to affected residents.
Those who violate quarantine protocols will be fined up to P5,000. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/BM, GMA News
