The City of Manila is monitoring a total of 1,409 active cases of COVID-19, Mayor Isko Moreno said on Monday.

"Ngayon po ang active cases natin, as of July 19, ay 1,409 and we have 2,262 na nakarecover na," Moreno said at a Palace press briefing.

Moreno said a total of 194 fatalities have been recorded in the city.

As part of its efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19, the city government has launched drive-thru testing for Manila residents as well as non-residents of Manila.

So far, over 1,500 individuals have been tested in the two drive-thru testing areas in Lawton and in Quirino Grandstand.

Moreno said walk-in testing areas were also launched.

"We made walk-in testing, adjacent to the hospital para di na sila kailangan pumasok at kabahan. Within 24 hours, malalaman nila ang resulta," Moreno said.—AOL, GMA News
