4 individuals, onboard jeep with PISTON flag, arrested in QC —Sinas

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Police Major General Debold Sinas on Monday said four individuals, onboard a jeepney, were arrested in Quezon City.

At a press briefing, Sinas said the jeepney used by those arrested had a red PISTON flag. He, however, did not identify the individuals arrested.

"Kanina papunta dito 'yung tropa natin, may isang jeep, may flag... diyan sa may Circle papunta yata dito, so nahuli. Anyway, apat na tao tapos hindi na tinatanong, dinala na sa Karingal," Sinas said.

"As to what happened to that, bahala na 'yung investigator namin sa Karingal," he added.

Asked if police would let them go home, Sinas was firm that cases should be filed against those arrested. He noted that traditional jeepneys are not allowed on the road.

"Unang-una bawal 'yung jeep. By all means, bawal 'yung jeep. Kung sabihin nila, social distancing, mayroon naman pasahero na apat lang," Sinas said.

He said the arrested persons are being processed at Camp Karingal. Lawyers are there to determine what cases would be filed against the individuals, he added.

The Metro Manila's top cop reminded that holding protest actions along Commonwealth Avenue amid President Rodrigo Duterte's 5th State of the Nation Address is prohibited.

Initially, they will ask those who will still conduct rallies in the area to leave. If they resist, Sinas said they would be arrested.

"Anybody na magplano na magrally, magprotesta sa Commonwealth Avenue ay pagsabihan na umalis, pag hindi huli agad. Now, gagamitin natin 'yung BJMP mobile detention, pag nahuli 'yan sila, derecho sila sa Karingal, doon po sila lahat dadalhin," Sinas said.—AOL, GMA News
