3 hurt after colorum AUV slams into concrete barriers, MRT3 post in QC

Three people were hurt after an AUV slammed into some concrete barriers and a post of the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT3) in Quezon City on Saturday morning.

The accident occurred on EDSA southbound near the Aurora Tunnel in Cubao, according to a report by Luisito Santos on Dobol B sa News TV.

The three passengers who had minor injuries were brought to East Avenue Medical Center.

The driver who was identified as Noel Cansejo was not injured.

According to Metropolitan Manila Development Authority traffic operations chief Bong Nebrija, the AUV, which was found to be colorum, came from Isabela and was transporting the three passengers.

Each passenger was charged up to P2,500 for the trip from Isabela to Metro Manila.

The AUV had a UV Express sticker hidden from view.

The driver admitted he fell asleep behind the wheel before losing control of the vehicle.
