Brgy 132 in Caloocan City placed under total lockdown

Another barangay in Caloocan was placed under total lockdown starting Sunday due to the increasing number of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases.

The lockdown at Barangay 132 started August 2, 12:01 a.m., and will end on August 8, 11:59 p.m., based on the Facebook post of Caloocan City Mayor Oscar Malapitan.

 

As of August 2, the barangay has recorded 59 COVID-19 cases with two deaths. It only has 36 cases on July 30 when the city officials met and made the decision to place it under lockdown.

Malapitan said they continue to conduct contact tracing and distribution of food packs to affected residents.

"Araw-araw ang ating pagmomonitor sa mga kaso ng COVID-19 sa bawat barangay. Ginagawa natin ang lahat ng makakaya para mapabilis ang contact tracing upang mapigilan ang pagkalat ng virus," he said.

Aside from Barangay 132, Barangay 142 is also under total lockdown which started last Saturday, August 1, until August 7.

Caloocan City Medical Center-South (CCMC) was also closed again from August 1 to 14 as 61 medical personnel got infected with COVID-19.

CCMC administrator Dr. Fernando Santos said all the infected personnel are already in quarantine.—AOL, GMA News
