In a report by Super Radyo dzBB's Luisito Santos, Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office's search and rescue supervisor Don Bangayos identified the victim as 74-year-old Romeo Añez.

Bangayos said responders had found the body of the victim at Barangay Damayang Lagi.

"Bale around 2 pm, nakatanggap kami ng report na may nawawalang lalaki dito sa may Judge Jimenez, Barangay Kamuning and then nagpa-deploy ang CDRRMO ng search and rescue team para magconduct ng search rescure retrieval... dakong 3:15 p.m., natagpuan si Romeo Añez, 74-years-old, sa Blk 3, San Juan River, Barangay Damayang Lagi..." he said.

He narrated that Añez's residence was among the five houses swept away by the strong current of water in the river.

"Ayon sa imbestigasyon, 'yung bahay ni Mr. Añez, nakapatong sa puno... malakas ang current ng tubig... limang bahay ang nalaglag, tinangay ng tubig. Kasama 'yung bahay ni Mr. Añez, hindi siya nakalabas kaagad," Bangayos said.

Bangayos said no other person is missing following the incident.

The downpour caused floods in several streets, particularly in Quezon City. Some streets were not even passable to light vehicles. —Anna Felicia Bajo/LDF, GMA News
