Justice Jose Abad Santos General Hospital's delivery room closed due to overcapacity

The Justice Jose Abad Santos General Hospital (JJASGH) in Binondo, Manila announced it has temporarily closed its facilities for delivery after it reached overcapacity.

"Nagsara pong muli ang PAANAKAN ng JUSTICE JOSE ABAD SANTOS GENERAL HOSPITAL (JJASGH) mula kahapon, araw ng Sabado, ika-8 ng Agosto 2020 sa ganap na ika-5 ng hapon," the hospital said in a Facebook post on Sunday.

The occupancy rate has already reached twice its capacity, it added.

"Ang occupancy rate ng kama para sa mga nanganak ay 233% na po. Ibig sabihin ay mahigit pa so doble ang bilang ng pasyente kumpara sa kama ng ospital," the hospital said.

It advised those who are due to give birth to proceed to other hospitals for the meantime.

"Maaari pong pumunta muna sa ibang ospital ang mga buntis na manganganak na," the hospital said.

"Maghintay po ng anunsiyo kung kailan magbubukas muli ang JJASGH. Maraming salamat po sa inyong pang-unawa," it added.

The hospital is the third walk-in COVID-19 testing site in Manila.

It offers free rapid testing for residents and non-residents of Manila. —KG, GMA News
