Barriers installed on bike lanes in QC

Barriers  have been put up on bike lanes in East Avenue and Elliptical Road in Quezon City, Unang Balita reported Monday.

In his report, GMA’s James Agustin said reflectorized steel bollards with cement and ropes were installed to separate the lane exclusively for bicycles.

Biker Jojo Fajutnao said he felt safe with the bike lane.

However, no barriers were put in front of establishments with parking spaces. Some vehicles took advantage of this and parked in the bike lane, thus blocking the way of the bikers.

A bicycle rider said this is dangerous because he had to swerve to other lanes.

Another biker noticed that some pedestrians walk on the bike lane instead of the sidewalk.

Disiplina talaga,” said Alex Agcaoili.
