Parañaque City Mayor and Metro Manila Council chairman Edwin Olivarez on Tuesday welcomed the good practices of some local government units in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

The City of Manila is offering P100,000 to barangays which will have no new COVID-19 cases in the next two months while San Juan City is giving P,3000 for infected patients who are willing to be transferred to quarantine facilities.

Olivarez stressed that good practices must be shared among other cities and municipalities to help in the efforts to curb the virus.

On Monday, Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno announced that the local government already allocated a total of P89.6 million budget as he expects all 896 barangays to meet the challenge.

The challenge will not only help the city government but the national government as well in curbing the spread of the virus, Moreno said.—AOL, GMA News
