QC COVID-19 cases now at 12,695 with over 9,000 recoveries

The number of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases validated by the Quezon City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (QCPD) rose to 12,695 on Friday with 378 new cases.

According to the COVID-19 media bulletin, 111 more patients have recovered from the illness, bringing the total to 9,910, while six new fatalities brought the death toll to 438.

There are also 2,347 active cases in the city.

Meanwhile, the Philippines has reported a total of 232,072 COVID-19 cases with 160,549 recoveries and 3,737 fatalities.

Case breakdown

District 1 has a total of 2,162 COVID-19 cases. Of this, 414 are active or recovering, 1,662 have recovered, and 86 have died.

District 2 has reported a total of 1,752 cases. Among this, 273 are active or recovering, 1,409 have recovered, and 70 have succumbed to the illness.

District 3 has reported a total of 2,223 cases, of which 543 are active or recovering. Meanwhile, 1,614 have recovered and 66 have died.

District 4 has reported a total of 2,818 COVID-19 cases with 581 active or recovering, 2,157 recoveries, and 80 fatalities.

District 5 has reported a total of 1,732 cases with 431 active or recovering cases. The district has a total of 1,239 recoveries while the death toll was recorded at 62.

District 6 has reported a total of 2,008 cases. Among this, 105 are active or recovering, 1,829 have recovered, and 74 have died.

Lockdowns

The Quezon City Government has implemented a “special concern lockdown” over the following areas due to a higher number and clustering of cases:

  • 55 Serrano Laktaw, in Doña Aurora
  • 68 Iriga St. in San Isidro Labrador
  • 26 Simoun St. in San Isidro Labrador
  • 5 Col. Salgado in West Kamias

Facilities

At present, HOPE 1 quarantine facility has 11 available beds for COVID-positive and suspect patients.

HOPE 2 has 213 beds still available while 163 beds are occupied by confirmed and suspected patients. Patients who were tested in the city’s community-based testing sites were brought to the facility for isolation.

Meanwhile, the HOPE 4 facility has 15 available rooms for confirmed and suspect patients. — DVM, GMA News
