DOTr, MMDA open 3 more median stops on EDSA Busway

The Department of Transportation and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority opened three additional median stops on the EDSA Busway.

EDSA Traffic and Transport Zone Head Edison Nebrija said on Sunday that the new bus stops started operations on Saturday.

“Starting yesterday, nag-open na naman tayo tatlong stations coming from the North, that would be the  North Avenue, Quezon Avenue, Station at tsaka 'yung Q-mart,” Nebrija said.

He noted that footbridges were already constructed in the concerned areas.

In a statement on Friday, DOTr said that three bus stops are in addition to the four bus stops in Guadalupe, Ortigas, Santolan, and Main Avenue.

“Sa tulong ng MMDA, 15 median bus stops na ang naitayo, at ang mga ito ay sunod-sunod na bubuksan oras na makumpleto ang iba pang safety and infrastructure requirements gaya ng barriers, lifters, at electricity,” DOTr said.

“Long-term plan ng DOTr na gawing 29 ang kabuuang bilang ng mga median bus stop sa EDSA,” the DOTr added. — DVM, GMA News
