House COVID-19 cases rise to 73

The number of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases reported at the House of Representatives has reached 73, of which 14 are active.

House Secretary General Jose Luis Montales said Friday a consultant from the office of House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano was the newest COVID-19 case.

He said the consultant last went to the House on August 24 and 25.

“He got tested after  experiencing itchy throat, body malaise, nasal congestion with colds, and loss of smell and taste,” said Montales.

He earlier reminded House employees to take extra precautions in order to prevent the further transmission of the disease.

He said employees should only report to work physically only if there is an absolute necessity.

Those who are experiencing or have experienced any COVID-19 symptom within the last 14 days should no longer report from work, he added.—AOL, GMA News
