Criminal raps filed vs. suspects in robbery-slay of motorcyclist in Valenzuela

Police on Tuesday said two of the suspects in the robbery and killing of a motorcyclist in Valenzuela City have already been identified.

At a press briefing, Valenzuela police chief Police Colonel Fernando Ortega said criminal complaints for the crimes of murder, robbery, and carnapping have been filed against Rico "Moja" Reyes and Narciso "Tukmol" Santiago for their alleged involvement on the killing of one Luigi Hernando.

"We filed the criminal complaint yesterday for the crime of robbery. Initially po kanina it's robbery with homicide because of the antecedents and the facts that we have gathered when we conducted the investigation, we came up na i-upgrade po namin sa murder because talagang planted and pre-meditated po talaga ito... 'yung robbery po is bonus na lang ng suspect," Ortega said.

Ortega said a manhunt operation is ongoing to catch the suspects who are now in hiding.

The cop said the local government of Valenzuela City is offering a reward worth P600,000 for anyone who could provide information about the suspects, which could later lead to their arrests.

An initial probe stated that Hernando, messenger and a collector, was shot dead by motorcycle-riding gunmen in Barangay Paso de Blas last October 9.

The suspects took his bag, which contained money, as well as his motorcycle, and escaped. — Anna Felicia Bajo/RSJ, GMA News
