Suspected NPA rebel with P700,000 bounty on his head nabbed in Pasig

A suspected New People's Army (NPA) rebel was arrested by operatives from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) in Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City on Thursday.

The NCRPO on Friday identified the suspect as Esteban Sergio Sales, 59, alleged member of the Kilusang Larangang Guerilla, Bicol Region Party Committee and suspected member of Komite Seksiyon sa Platon (KSPN 1) and Komite on Section sa Iskwad (KSSI 1).

NCRPO chief Police Major General Debold Sinas said Sales is a national most wanted person. He said the government had offered a P700,000 reward for Sales' capture.

Police served the warrant of arrest for the crime of murder and malicious mischief against Sales in a residence along Mars St., Sitio Pinalad, Centennial 2.

Sales is allegedly involved in the murder of a rebel returnee in Camarines Sur in 2000, the NCRPO said. He is now detained at the Regional Special Operations Group custodial facility. —Anna Felicia Bajo/KBK, GMA News
