73 Manila barangays declared 'COVID-19 free' for 2 months, get cash incentive

Seventy-three barangays in Manila have reported zero new COVID-19 cases for two months, according to Isa Avendaño-Umali's report on Balitanghali on Monday.

In a flag-raising ceremony, Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso announced the total number of "COVID-19 free" barangays that reported zero new cases from September 1 to October 31.

The Manila government will give P100,000 cash to these barangays in line with its incentive-based approach to prevent the  spread of COVID-19 infection in the city.

The following are the barangays that received the incentive:

  • District 1 - Barangays 3, 8, 30, 44, 83, 87, 124, 126, 127, 139, 143, 145
  • District 2 – Barangays 188, 217, 239, 240, 243, 244, 252, 258, 261
