Cop in Tondo shooting surrenders

The cop involved in the shooting incident in Tondo, Manila early Friday morning surrendered to authorities.

Manila Police District Homicide Division chief Police Captain Henry Navarro told GMA News Online that suspect Police Corporal Norman Alvin Santos surrendered to his office at 1:30 p.m.

In a separate interview on QRT, Navarro said right after the shooting incident, police immediately went to Santos' relatives, advising them to help in telling Santos to surrender.

One Joseph Marga was killed and a certain Mark Lester Quiñones was injured in the incident in Barangay 106.

Earlier reports said the cop was drunk when the incident happened.

Navarro said Marga had a heated argument with the cop because the former was asking Santos to remove his motorcycle that was parked in front of the victim's house.

Navarro said Quiñones, who is still being treated in the hospital, was a companion of Santos.
