Cimatu visits Ulysses-hit Provident Village in Marikina

Environment Secretary Roy Cimatu on Saturday visited Provident Village, which was heavily flooded during the onslaught of Typhoon Ulysses in Marikina City last week.

Cimatu, co-chairperson of the Build Back Better Task Force, was accompanied by Marikina City Mayor Marcelino "Marcy" Teodoro during his visit, according to a report on 24 Oras News Alert.

Six people died in Marikina City due to the flooding, the local government said.

The Marikina River swelled due to heavy rains from Typhoon Ulysses, flooding many areas in the city. The water level of Marikina River exceeded the level during Tropical Storm in 2009, when widespread flooding also occurred.
