LRT2 operations resume hours after Batangas quake shook NCR

Light Rail Transit Line 2 service resumed hours after it was suspended when the 7:34 a.m. magnitue-6.3 earthquake shook Calatagan, Batangas, sending shockwaves that were also felt in Metro Manila with some parts experiencing Intensity  IV.

In an interview on Super Radyo dzBB, LRTA spokesman Atty. Hernando Cabrera said operations resumed at 11:10 a.m.

He also said that operational speed was reduced to 40 kph to ensure the safety of passengers.

Earlier, LRT2 operations were temporarily suspended after the Batangas quake shook Calatagan.

In a post on its Twitter account, the LRT2 management said its engineers were  assessing the integrity of its railway. —LBG, GMA News
