QCPD investigates murder of ex-cop along Commonwealth Avenue

The Quezon City Police District is investigating the killing of a former police officer in Barangay Old Balara on Saturday, QCPD director Police Brigadier General Danilo Macerin said in a Sunday statement.

According to investigators, 60-year old former cop Rodolfo Aspril and 42-year-old companion Lea Ross were on their way home aboard a motorcycle along Commonwealth Avenue early Saturday evening when six masked suspects on three motorcycles opened fire on Aspril.                

A SOCO team recovered eight cartridge cases and a deformed .45 caliber bullet from the crime scene.

The QCPD also revealed that Aspril had a previous case involving illegal drugs.                             

Macerin meanwhile said that investigators were attempting to identify the suspects as well as discover the motive for the killing.

The QCPD chief urged those with relevant information that would lead to the resolution of the case to come forward and share this information at the nearest police station. — DVM, GMA News
