Flight attendant was ‘very healthy,’ had no history of aneurysm, says mother

The 23-year-old flight attendant who was found dead in a Makati hotel room was “very healthy” and had no history of aneurysm, which was listed as her cause of death, her mother said Tuesday.

Interviewed on Super Radyo dzBB, Sharon Dacera said her daughter Christine would not have been allowed to work as a flight attendant if she had health issues.

“Si PAL (Philippine Airlines), the company itself, hindi ka ipapa-duty kung may diperensya ka… E on duty ‘yung anak ko tapos COVID pa, kung isipin mo. So my daughter is very, very ,very much healthy,” she said.

Christine was found lifeless in a bathtub on January 1st after checking into a hotel with friends for a New Year’s Eve celebration. 

She was rushed to a hospital but declared dead on arrival due to ruptured aortic aneurysm.

“Ang anak ko, ‘yung company where my daughter is working is hindi ‘yan siya pwede mag-duty kung may diperensya ang health so para sa akin, ang anak ko parang na-set up na talagang ginamit lang ‘yung anak ko,” Sharon said.

“Ang kainosentehan ng probinsyana, tinake advantage ng kung sino mang hinayu*** na ‘yun.”

In an earlier news conference, Sharon appealed for President Rodrigo Duterte’s help in bringing her daughter’s death to justice. 

The bereaved mother also called on Christine’s friends to surface to prove that they are not guilty.

“Ang sa’kin lang, kung wala kang kasalanan, lumabas pa. Magpakita ka sa amin. Say the truth. Kasi how can Christine speak, wala na anak ko? You can make your own statement,” she said.

Among the people Christine was last with, three have been nabbed and charged with rape with homicide while nine remain at large.
