Manila releases road closures, rerouting, parking plan for Black Nazarene feast


The local government of Manila released Wednesday the road closures, rerouting, and parking plan to be implemented from Friday, January 8, to Saturday, January 9, for the celebration of the Feast of the Black Nazarene.

In an advisory posted on Facebook, the Manila public information office reminded the public that mass gathering is not allowed as it encouraged the devotees to celebrate the feast inside their respective homes amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Among the closed roads are parts of Quezon Boulevard (Quiapo), España Boulevard, Evangelista street, Carlos Palanca street, Ronquillo street, and Bustos street.

The public can park their vehicles at Isetann Recto pay parking, pay parking area beside Dating Daan building, Quinta Public Market pay parking, and east bound lane of Carlos Palanca street from Palanca bridge.

The devotees are also encouraged to use the QR code for contact tracing.

Due to the pandemic, the traditional Traslacion will not push through but the image of the Black Nazarene will be brought to several places where the devotees can visit it.
