NCRPO to check if there were lapses in initial probe on Christine Dacera's death

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) acting chief Police Brigadier General Vicente Danao Jr. on Thursday said they would also check if police who initially probed Christine Dacera's case had lapses.

"'Yung SOCO, medyo late na pumunta, so I think they went there for a few hours after kaya lagi kong sinasabi sa ating mga tao, dapat nandoon kaagad 'yung first responder to preserve the crime scene. Aside from investigators, who will be taking charge of the case, iyong SOCO napakaimportante noon,” Danao told reporters.

"In the absence of which, dahil late, dahil naembalsamo na, talagang may kakulangan ang pag-iimbestiga. 'Yun ang tinitignan natin if there will be administrative lapses on that case and definitely may mananagot,” he added.

For Philippine National Police spokesperson Police Brigadier General Ildebrandi Usana, the Makati City police was not at fault after three persons implicated and detained over Dacera's death were released, noting that cops just did their job.

The Makati City Prosecutor's Office had ordered the release of John Pascual dela Serna III, Rommel Galido, and John Paul Halili as it stated that a further investigation is needed on the matter.

The city prosecutor said the pieces of evidence initially submitted by the police were insufficient in establishing that Dacera was really sexually-abused prior her death.

The pieces of evidence were also not enough to prove what was the real cause of Dacera's death, the city's prosecutor added.
