Manila cops seize P17-M suspected shabu, rescue minor used as 'runner'

Suspected shabu estimated at P17 million was seized during a buy-bust operation in Paco, Manila on Thursday evening, authorities said Friday.

Police authorities said the operation conducted by Manila Police District and the PNP Pandacan Station Drug Enforcement Unit resulted in the arrest of two drug suspects identified as Rudjiefei Bedo, 21 and Saida Ayuna, 32.

A minor, believed used by the suspects as "runner" was rescued in the operation.

"We have to stop these criminals and protect our children from criminal exploitation. If these drug peddlers don't stop pestering our children, the PNP will be their most difficult enemy to deal with," PNP chief Police General Debold Sinas said.

The suspects are presently detained at the MPD and will face non-bailable charges for drug trafficking.

Meanwhile, the minor has been turned over to the concerned social welfare office.  —LBG, GMA News
