Vico Sotto: Over 300 Pasig health aides to receive salary hike

More than 300 Pasig Health Aides (PHA) will have their monthly salary increased from P5,000 to over P12,000 as part of efforts to strengthen primary health care in the city, Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto said Tuesday.

In a tweet, Sotto said a total of 314 PHA, with some under "volunteer status," will now receive P547 per day.

“Tungo sa [Universal Health Care], kailangan palakasin pa natin ang primary health care– susi rito ang mga health center at mga personnel nito,” Sotto said.

”Marami sa kanila ay deka-dekada nang 'volunteer status' pero ang totoo, mabigat ang katungkulan nila. I am happy to announce their salary increase,” he added.

The UHC law, which guarantees all Filipinos equal access to quality and affordable goods and services in healthcare, was signed in February 2019.—AOL, GMA News
