PGH personnel ready to get vaccinated now over 90%

The number of personnel of the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) willing to get vaccinated against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has climbed to over 90 percent.

According to Sandra Aguinaldo’s report on “24 Oras,” PGH said that from the previous 75 percent of its 5,000 employees, a total of 93.6% have now been listed for vaccination.

Mary Grace Santos, a nurse assigned to the operating room, said she wanted to get inoculated because of her frequent exposure to COVID-19 patients. She said she is worried about taking the virus to her parents at home.

Security personnel Realyn Timbas and janitor Christie Celespara are also willing to get the jab against the illness.

The first person chosen to be vaccinated as part of the PGH’s inoculation rollout is its spokesperson, Dr. Jonas Del Rosario, who recovered from COVID-19 but whose parents died of the virus.—Joahna Lei Casilao/LDF, GMA News
