The local government unit of Mandaluyong City has made a 20% down payment to AstraZeneca for the 150,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine it has ordered, the city public information office said on Tuesday.

In a Facebook post, Mandaluyong City PIO said the amount was given to the pharmaceutical company on Monday.

So far, the city has recorded at least 34,402 individuals who have already registered for the vaccination. Mayor Menchie Abalos encouraged her constituents to register.
