Videos show more scenes at Commonwealth Avenue shootout

New footage of the shootout between the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) at the Ever Gotesco Mall in Quezon City showed heavily armed men and women in shorts and flip-flops who later turned out to be undercover anti-narcotics officers.

One video from a citizen, as seen in a report by Saleema Refran in 24 Oras on Friday, showed armed men and women already at the parking lot of the fast food restaurant, while a man lay prone near a motorcycle.

An armed man was also seen hiding at a gasoline station in front of the parking lot, as tricycle drivers cowered in fear.

Meanwhile, under an overpass, an armed man was spotted with his foot on another person as another armed man joined them.

Minutes after, additional men also wearing shorts and flip-flops arrived carrying different kinds of firearms.

The videos were taken during the shootout between the PNP and PDEA.

People had fled when the shootout started, as seen at Bartangay Matandang Balara's CCTV. There were instances however where onlookers gathered near the scene as police arrived.

The shootout lasted an hour.
