Metro Manila Council meets to discuss Sinovac vaccine distribution


The Metro Manila Council met on Saturday night to discuss the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccines manufactured by Sinovac that are set to arrive on Sunday.

According to Bam Alegre’s report on “24 Oras News Alert,” the Metro Manila mayors discussed the distribution of doses for each local government unit.

President Rodrigo Durterte will personally receive the 600,000 doses of Sinovac's COVID-19 vaccine that were donated by China at the Villamor Airbase.

The vaccine will then be brought to a storage facility in Marikina.

On Monday, authorities will begin the country’s inoculation program in  five hospitals.

Meanwhile, 525,600 doses of AstraZeneca's vaccine are expected to arrive at around Monday noon. — Joahna Lei Casilao/DVM, GMA News
