Errant policemen caught without face shields while enforcing COVID-19 protocols

Some policemen of the Manila Police District were caught by their superiors without face shields while supposedly enforcing minimum health protocols in the streets of the city.

According to Jun Veneracion's report on "24 Oras", the inability to follow basic health protocols was one of the causes of the surge in COVID-19 cases among Manila's police officers.

The report said there are 75 active cases of COVID-19 in MPD, mostly from Meisic police station in Binondo, with 59 virus infections. The police station is currently under lockdown.

On the first offense, non-compliant policemen will be warned. For the second offense, they will face appropriate cases.

In the report, Police Colonel Nick Salvador, MPD Deputy Director for Administration, advised his fellow cops: “Tayo mismo ang nagpapatupad so dapat tayo ang compliant sa health protocol.”
