Mayor Vico Sotto declares granular lockdowns in 37 Pasig City areas

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto on Friday declared granular lockdowns in 37 areas of the city amid the surge of COVID-19 cases and the emergence of variants in Metro Manila.

The areas under granular lockdowns were:

Sotto said the granular lockdown would be different from an Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), as Authorized Persons Outside Residence (APOR) were still allowed to go to work or for an emergency.

However, non-APORs were not allowed to go out of their homes, and visitors wer not allowed as well.

Sotto said the stricter implementation would start on Saturday, March 20, and would run for two weeks until April 1.

Twelve Metro Manila cities were among the top 15 areas with a “significant” upward trend in the number of new COVID-19 cases, the OCTA Research group said, including Pasig City. — DVM, GMA News
