Manila is now ready to proceed with the vaccination of frontline personnel in essential sectors and local government officials, or the A4 category, against COVID-19, Mayor Isko Moreno said Monday.

Interviewed on Super Radyo dzBB, Moreno said they already reached the minimum requirement of the Department of Health for the vaccination of the target recipients under the A3 category, which includes persons with comorbidities.

“Nasa A3 na tayo, even to the point that the A3 minimum requirement ng DOH ay na-fulfill na natin yesterday. In fact, puwede na tayong mag-A4 kung may bakuna na tayo ulit,” he said.

According to Moreno, barangay officers and police personnel are included in the A4 category.

Currently, Moreno said the available vaccines in Manila are only for the second dose of recipients in the A1 to A3 categories.

For Moreno, the vaccination program in Manila is “on track” so far. He said around 33,603 people already received a dose of COVID-19 vaccine.  —KBK, GMA News
