MMDA to start inoculating field personnel

The Metropolitan Development Authority (MMDA)  will start the COVID-19 vaccination of its field personnel, who have high exposure to the virus, its chairman Benhur Abalos said Tuesday.

"Magandang balita. May ongoing vaccination ngayon, una mga doctors and nurses. Siguro bukas magsisimula na ang bakuna ng mga empleyado lalo na sa  mga labas, kawawa po mga traffic [law] enforcers namin. So tomorrow ang mass vaccination ng MMDA," Abalos said on Balitanghali.

(There is good news as we started the vaccination of doctors and nurses. Other employees, especially traffic law enforcers, will be vaccinated tomorrow.)

When asked how many employees  will be inoculated per day, Abalos said there will be about 500 field personnel.

In 2020, 62 personnel of the MMDA contracted the virus, forcing the government agency to temporarily close its offices for decontamination.

In January, MMDA former chairman Danilo Lim succumbed to the severe viral ailment. -MDM, GMA News
