COVID-19 Swab Cab conducts 651 tests in QC, 54 positive –Robredo

The Office of the Vice President's mobile "Swab Cab" conducted 651 COVID-19 antigen tests in three Quezon City barangays on Saturday, according to Vice President Leni Robredo.

In a tweet, Robredo said that 54 individuals from Barangays Culiat, Tandang Sora, and Pasong Tamo were found to be positive for the viral illness.

The Vice President added that all the individuals who were tested received rice and hygiene kits while those who tested positive were given food packs and COVID-19 care kits.

“All those who will be self-isolating at home will still be monitored by our volunteers, two times each day,” Robredo said.

She also noted a difference in protocols between Quezon City and Malabon.

“In Malabon, there was already an ambulance on hand to bring all those who tested positive to the designated isolation center,” Robredo said.

Meanwhile, though an ambulance was on standby in Quezon City, the COVID-19 positive individuals were instead turned over to their respective barangays, as per the city's protocols.

Furthermore, those who tested positive needed to be x-rayed and have lab work done at designated hospitals.

“Thank you once again to the Office of Congressman Kit Belmonte and to the Barangay Officials and BHERTs of the 3 barangays for doing all the groundwork to make this happen,” she said.
