Rapid HIV testing lab in Manila now licensed to operate

A rapid human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) diagnostic algorithm (rHIVda) confirmatory testing laboratory in Manila was given the green light to operate by the Department of Health on Tuesday.

In a Facebook post, Mayor Isko Moreno said the new laboratory, which is located inside the Sta. Ana Hospital, is the "gold standard" of testing for HIV.

Moreno said the city government will continue to upgrade its medical facilities to be able to serve the public's needs.

Moreno said the milestone was in time for the 11th anniversary of the state-run hospital on April 28. — DVM, GMA News
