Caloocan sub-station commander relieved over Gubat sa Ciudad protocol violation

By ANNA FELICIA BAJO, GMA News

The commander of the Caloocan Police Sub-Station 9 was relieved from his post, Caloocan City police chief Police Colonel Samuel Mina confirmed on Tuesday.

Mina showed to GMA News Online the relief order of Police Major Harold Aaron Melgar. His relief from post came following the closure of Gubat sa Ciudad resort due to its operation despite Caloocan City being under modified enhanced community quarantine.

Mina said authorities would investigate if there was negligence on Melgar's part as the resort was able to accept guests despite the strict quarantine measures.

"Relief and transfer is already a form of disciplinary measure but on my part, pinapaimbestigahan ko pa 'yung negligence niya sa pag-supervise ng area of responsibility niya," the city police chief said.

Mina said Police Lieutenant Ronald Jasmin Batalla was designated as assistant chief, patrol section concurrent officer-in-charge of the said sub-station.

The designation is effective on May 10.
